A local partner for your French entity
Many French subsidiaries have little or no finance staff on site. They still have to comply with all French requirements while meeting the head office’s expectations: reporting deadlines, formats, internal controls.
Local compliance
Bookkeeping under the French chart of accounts, annual accounts, corporate tax, VAT, local taxes, filing of accounts.
Payroll
Payslips, social security filings, local hires or assignments, in coordination with group HR.
Group reporting
Monthly or quarterly closings, reporting packages, GAAP adjustments, intercompany reconciliations.
Transfer pricing and intercompany
Intercompany invoicing and documentation support, in coordination with your group’s advisers.
Your French subsidiary, and what we take care of
What you can expect
- Communication in English with your head office, controllers and auditors
- A clear compliance calendar, shared in advance
- Figures delivered on time, with explanations
- One identified contact who knows the history of your subsidiary
If your subsidiary requires a statutory audit, it must be performed by an auditor independent from the accountant who prepares the accounts.
Frequently asked questions
Does a French subsidiary need its own accountant?
A French company must keep accounts under French GAAP and file French tax and social returns. Working with a French chartered accountant is the usual way to meet these obligations reliably.
Does our subsidiary need a statutory auditor?
It depends on its size and, in some cases, on the size of the group. We review the thresholds with you. If an audit is required, another firm must act as auditor if we keep the accounts, due to independence rules.
Can you work with our group ERP or accounting tools?
In many cases, yes. We adapt to your group systems where possible and agree with you who does what.
Can you handle payroll for a few employees?
Yes: payslips, monthly social security filings, hiring and leaving formalities, coordinated with your group HR.
How do intercompany invoices work in France?
They must follow French invoicing and VAT rules, and transfer pricing documentation may be required depending on the group’s size. We help you keep these flows consistent.
Do you speak with our head office directly?
Yes. We are used to working with group finance teams, in English, on reporting deadlines and year-end questions.
The forecasts, cash-flow plans, dashboards, simulations, studies and analyses mentioned above are additional engagements, provided on request and quoted in advance in your engagement letter: the more frequent they are, the higher their cost.
