What the reform requires
- Receive e-invoices: since 1 September 2026, all VAT-registered businesses established in France must be able to receive them, through an approved platform.
- Issue them: mandatory since September 2026 for large and mid-sized companies, from 1 September 2027 for SMEs, small businesses and micro-entrepreneurs.
- A true electronic format: a PDF sent by e-mail is no longer enough; the invoice is structured and goes through an approved platform.

What we can set up for you
If you do not have a compliant tool yet, we can offer you, as soon as the engagement letter is signed, the platform we use, approved by the French tax authorities:
Your sales invoices
You create them in the tool, in the right format: they reach your customers through the approved platform, with the mandatory mentions.
Your purchase invoices
They arrive directly in the tool: no more documents to look for or send us one by one.
Your accounts up to date
Sales and purchases are centralised in one place: your accounting moves forward as you go, and our advice relies on recent figures.
A guided set-up
We can configure the tool with you (mentions, numbering, customers), then check your first invoices.
Already using a compliant invoicing tool connected to an approved platform? We work with it: what matters is that your invoices and your accounts stay connected.
This set-up is neither systematic nor contractual: we agree on it with you, according to your needs.

Frequently asked questions
Is e-invoicing mandatory for my French company?
Yes. Since 1 September 2026, every VAT-registered business established in France must be able to receive e-invoices. Issuing them becomes mandatory on 1 September 2027 for SMEs, small businesses and micro-entrepreneurs.
Is a PDF sent by e-mail an e-invoice?
No. An e-invoice is a structured file that goes through a platform approved by the French tax authorities.
Do I need to change my invoicing software?
Not necessarily: your tool must be able to connect to an approved platform, or be one. If you do not have a compliant tool, we can offer you the one we use, as soon as the engagement letter is signed.
When can a tool be set up?
As soon as the engagement letter is signed, if we agree on it together: we can configure it with you, then check your first invoices.
E-invoicing: can your accountant in France support you?
Yes: we connect your invoicing and your accounting from the start of our engagement and, if needed, can offer you a compliant tool, in English. Get my free meeting and quote
